John Lennon was so worried about going bald he called hairdresser for an emergency consultation

The young John Lennon was so worried about going bald he once asked his hairdresser for an emergency consultation.

In April 1969 Leslie Cavendish let slip to a music journalist that the 29-year-old Lennon had thin hair, leading to sensational headlines that he was losing his locks.

Although Mr Cavendish, who cut the Beatles’ hair for nine years, apologised and claimed he had been misquoted, the singer ordered him round immediately.
